Chumphon Pinnacle Koh Tao – Complete Dive Guide

Chumphon Pinnacle is one of the most famous dive sites in Koh Tao, known for its huge schools of fish, deep pinnacle structure and frequent whale shark sightings. Located around 11 kilometres northwest of the island, this site is a must-visit for certified divers.

The dive site consists of a large granite pinnacle that rises from the seabed at around 35 metres up to approximately 14 metres below the surface. Covered in anemones and surrounded by marine life, Chumphon Pinnacle offers one of the best diving experiences in the Gulf of Thailand.

Marine Life at Chumphon Pinnacle

This dive site is famous for its large pelagic species and dense schools of fish. Divers commonly see barracuda, giant trevally, queenfish and fusiliers moving around the pinnacle.

Reef life includes groupers, triggerfish, moray eels and colourful reef fish, while lucky divers may encounter whale sharks passing through the area.
